It’s a Mid-Life Crisis Thing.

Brian Mattson and Kerry Skiles had been singing together for twenty years in their church. One day they decided to team up to start an acoustic duo. It came at a time when they’d both seen enough of life and loss and joy and grief to actually start writing really good songs. Call it a whim. An itch. A mysterious calling. Their mid-life crisis. But it was the best musical idea they ever had. A lyric from their second-ever song became the name of the band: Ticker Tape Parade.

Kerry hails originally from northern California, where she won a singing contest at age 5. She hasn’t stopped singing since. She is married to Steve, her husband of 26 years, is the mother of four children, and lives in Billings, Montana.

Brian was born, raised, and lives in Billings. He has been a guitarist for 30 years, and although he’s been songwriting for 25, once he started writing for Kerry’s voice he discovered he had finally figured some things out. He’s been married to Tara for 20 years, and they have three daughters.
